Amiri Dear

Amiri Dear is an Associate in the Civil Litigation Division of Hummingbird Lawyers LLP with a special interest in employment and real estate related litigation. Amiri was first called to the Barbados bar in 2006. After completing a Masters’ degree in law at the University of Toronto in 2012, Amiri was admitted to the Ontario bar in 2015. Amiri has represented corporations and individuals before a number of tribunals and courts at the highest levels both throughout the province of Ontario and the Caribbean. Amiri prides himself as being not only a skilled advocate but also one with whom clients, other lawyers, and judges enjoy working.

Apart from his interest in written and oral advocacy, Amiri is also passionate about the area of sports law and particularly, combat sports law. Amiri has acted as a policy consultant to Muaythai Ontario since 2016, paving the way for the recognition of a said organization as a provincially recognized sporting organization.

Amiri is dedicated to helping all of his clients achieve their goals whether that requires litigation, negotiation or providing general advice.
