George is an Articling Student with Hummingbird Lawyers Family Law Department.
George attended law school at the University of Kent where he received his Bachelor of Law with First Class Honours. During law school, George was involved with the faculty’s community clinic where he assisted members of the community on a variety of legal matters. George has competed in several advocacy competitions. Most notably, in his first year, George participated in the Canadian Law Society Alumni Mooting Competition where his team placed first and earned him the opportunity to represent Kent Law School at the Peter MacKay National Mooting Competition. In his final year, he was also awarded Top Advocate in the Kent Law School Mock Trial Competition. When he was not competing, George volunteered as a mooting coach, where he was awarded Kent Temple Law Society Mooting Mentor of the Year. In his final year of law school, George was elected as President of the Canadian Law Society, where he helped plan programs relevant to assisting Internationally Trained Lawyers becoming familiar with the accreditation process in Canada.
Prior to law school, George received an Honours Bachelor of Social Sciences in Criminology and a Minor in Law from the University of Ottawa. George competed in several mock trial competitions, where his team placed first in the Telfer Business Law Society Mock Trial Competition. Throughout his undergraduate degree, George engaged in volunteer work with various philanthropic organizations, including Habitat for Humanity, Alzheimer’s Society of Canada, and the University of Ottawa’s Office of Sustainability, where he actively promoted waste reduction and environmental sustainability.
Prior to Articling at Hummingbird Lawyers LLP, George gained valuable experience at a boutique litigation firm in Vaughan, where he diligently served as a representative for clients appearing before the Landlord and Tenant Board. He also worked at a boutique family law firm in Orangeville, where he was exposed to a diverse range of complex legal matters within the realm of family law.
Outside of work, George enjoys playing hockey, golf, and doing anything to stay active.
